‘PadMan’ Akshay Kumar installs sanitary pad vending machine in Mumbai

Mumbai: Reel life ‘PadMan’ Akshay Kumar has installed a sanitary pad vending machine in Mumbai Central ST Bus Depot with the hope to put more across the country.

The National Award winning actor inaugurated the vending machine along with Shiv Sena leader Aaditya Thackeray. Akshay whose latest release PadMan deals with menstruation and sanitary hygiene, took to his Twitter on Thursday and shared a photograph of him along with Aadtiya.

“Placed a sanitary pad vending machine at Mumbai Central ST Bus Depot today, hoping to place more across the state and eventually hopefully the whole country. Thank you Aaditya Thackeray for your support,” he captioned the image.

Thackeray also expressed his gratitude towards Khiladi Kumar and said that ‘PadMan’ should cross the 100 crore mark soon.

“Should cross the Rs 100 Crore mark soon! Thank you Akshay Kumarji for always being an inspiration to do good!” Thackeray tweeted.

Directed by R Balki and produced by Twinkle Khanna, the movie also stars Sonam Kapoor and Radhika Apte. ‘PadMan’ is based on the life of social entrepreneur and activist Arunachalam Muruganantham, who invented a low-cost sanitary napkin making machine.
