Jaipur: Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhra Raje on Saturday wrote a letter to Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting Smriti Irani and requested her to make necessary changes in filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s upcoming movie ‘Padmavati’.
As per reports, amidst growing protest over ‘Padmavati’, the chief minister has urged not to release the movie without making necessary changes in it so that sentiments of any community are not hurt.
In her letter to Irani, Raje said, “A committee of eminent historians, film personalities and members from the aggrieved community should be formed, who would watch the film and discuss it in detail.
“After that, necessary changes should be made to the movie so that the sentiments of any community are not affected,” the chief minister wrote.
Vasundhra also asked Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) to consider all possible outcomes and effects before certifying ‘Padmavati’.
The movie is scheduled to release on December 1.
