Mumbai: Megastar Amitabh Bachchan entered Bollywood with the film ‘Saat Hindustani’ 49 years ago, and there was no turning back for Big B. Today, the legendary star took to his Twitter page and spoke about his debut film which he signed on February 15, 1969.
Directed by Khwaja Ahmad Abbas, popularly known as KA Abbas, ‘Saat Hindustani’ was based on the heroic story of seven Indians who attempt to liberate Goa from the Portuguese colonial rule.
Big played the role of a Bihar-based Anwar Ali in the movie. In 1970, Amitabh won National Award for best new comer for this iconic film.
“T 2615 – 49 years ago I came to the city of dreams and signed my first film “Saat Hindustani’ on Feb 15, 1969 ,” Big B tweeted.
Amitabh Bachchan also shared a vintage photo with his father Harivansh Rai Bachchan and son Abhishek Bachchan He captioned the photo stating, “I return home after my COOLIE accident after near death .. charan sparsh to my Father .. and see him breakdown for the first time in my life .. an anxious Abhishek looks on .”
Meanwhile, Big B will soon appear in Thugs of Hindostan and 102 Not Out, in which he will reunite with another veteran actor Rishi Kapoor.
