Mumbai: Irrfan Khan starrer Hindi Medium won accolades by the audience and as well as critics. Now reports are doing the rounds that the sequel of the movie will go on the floors in August this year.
If sources are to be believed, head of Bhushan Kumar and Dinesh Vijan, founder of Maddock films have signed a multiple movie deal which includes a sequel of ‘Hindi Medium’, one of the best films released in 2017.
Sources reveal that Irrfan will continue his role as Raj Batra in the film. But Saba Qamar, who played Irrfan’s wife in Hindi Medium, won’t be a part of the sequel.
“The story flash-forwards by a decade so five-year-old Pia will be in her teens now, around 15-16 years. The story will be a fresh take on the Indian educational system with little reference to the original,” said a source.
Recently, Irrfan bagged Filmfare’s Best actor Award for ‘Hindi Medium’.
