Janhvi and Khushi will definitely make Sridevi proud, says Rishi Kapoor

Mumbai: The entire nation is mourning the untimely demise of Bollywood’s first female superstar Sridevi. Ever since the news of her death broke out, several Bollywood stars including Shahrukh Khan, Gauri Khan, Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Rani Mukerji arrived at Anil Kapoor’s house to offer their condolence.

Veteran actor Rishi Kapoor, who shared the screen space with Sridevi in iconic films like ‘Nagina’ and ‘Chandani’, told a news channel, “It is very unfortunate, I had never imagined that I will be writing about Sridevi’s obituary or talking about her like this. It’s uncalled for. I am absolutely devastated. She was hardly 54 years of age and she had everything going for her. She had a great career and she had a daughter at the threshold of great stardom. I feel so bad for the kids- I worked with their mother and father. I wish heartfelt love and great success to them. She will definitely make Sridevi proud.”

Sridevi passed away on February 24 in Dubai due to accidental drowning. Her sudden demise shocked her fans and the Bollywood fraternity.

Rishi Kapoor had earlier tweeted “Woken up to this tragic news. Absolute shock. Sad. Heartfelt condolences to Boney and their two daughters!”

Slamming the media, he wrote, “How has Sridevi all of a sudden become the “body”? All television channels reporting “the body will be brought to Mumbai in the night!” Suddenly your individuality gets lost and becomes a mere body??,”

Sridevi’s funeral will be held on Wednesday at Mumbai’s Pawan Hans crematorium in Ville Parle area.
