Mumbai: Filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali is leaving no stones unturned to get everything right before the release of his magnum opus film ‘Padmavati’ but the movie has landed in a new controversy.
As per sources, on Tuesday Rajput Karni Sena activists have vandalized a theatre in Kota area of Rajasthan after reports that it was showing a trailer of ‘Padmavati’.
If sources are to be believed, the protestors pelted stones, broke windowpanes, gates and damaged the ticket counter. Not just that they even used abusive words against Bhansali.
According to reports, Police have detained eight persons.
The movie is facing troubles one after the other ever since it was announced. The filmmaker was also attacked by the protestors when he was shooting in Rajasthan.
Bhansali has made it cleared several times that there is no romantic scene between Rani Padmini and Alauddin Khilji in the movie. He even shared a video and conveyed his message that he made ‘Padmavati’ with lots of responsibility and honesty.
The filmmaker also said that he respects Rani Padmini and ‘Padmavati’ is a tribute to her.
‘Padmavati’ stars Deepika Padukone as Rani Padmini, Shahid Kapoor as Maharawal Ratan Singh and Ranveer Singh as Alauddin Khilji. The movie is scheduled to release on December 1.
